Woman takes dogs to groomer but they’re unrecognisable when she picks them up

Now that lockdown has eased, many of us have finally been able to go out and get a long-awaited hair cut.

And while some of these appointments will result in much-needed transformations for the better, there are bound to be a few that don’t go quite as well as you’d hoped.

And the same applies to our pets going to the dog groomers.

We’ve recently come across two dogs who looked completely unrecognisable after going in to get their fur trimmed.

The two golden doodles belong to a TikTok user who posts under the username @itsmeclao and it’s fair to say the pooches didn’t look too happy about their makeover.

In the video, the dog owner starts off by showing how they looked before, with their curly fur grown out, a little long over their eyes and in need of a good cut.

She proceeds to show a photo of the way she wanted her pets to be groomed, with a slightly shorter but still fluffy cut, before showing how they actually turned out.

The two dogs look like a completely different breed when she picked them up, with their fur having been shaved completely off.

The sound in the background says: “This is what I wanted… and this is what I got.”

The TikTok clip has gone viral being watched over 159,000 times and garnering over 10,000 likes.

Hundreds of people also took the time to comment, with some suggesting the dog groomer had no choice but to get rid of the fur.

One person said: “They only cut the hair like that when it’s so matted it’s uncomfortable to comb the dog out. Not the groomers fault.”

Another replied: “They probably need to be combed 3-4 times a week. Are you doing that?”

Others couldn’t get over how different they looked.

Someone else asked: “Are you sure those are your dogs?”

A different user wrote: “They came out different breeds.”

The owner later responded to some of the comments about the fur matting, adding: “I love my babies. This happened in just a couple of snow storms because I let them play outside. They looked happy in the before.

“They get groomed every other month. It’s totally not his fault he’s amazing.”
